Vintage Brass Chateau Thierry France WWI Match Box Holder

DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
Up for sale is a vintage vintage brass match box holder with the crest or coat of arms and name of Chateau Thierry. I have seen other similar boxes listed as being from the WWI period. Please make your own determination on this as I can't confirm how old it is. Château-Thierry was the site of two important battles. The Battle of Château-Thierry (1814) in the Napoleonic Wars between France and Prussia, and Battle of Château-Thierry (1918) in World War I, between the United States and Germany. It measures about 2 3/8” by just over 1 1/2” and is about 3/4” wide at the spine.
There is a heavy patina and some soiling and wear. Sold as is. Please review the photographs and email me if you have any questions or want additional photographs.
