TOP QUALITY COPY of a 1939 Photo ID Card of Soviet NKVD Officer.
This is a High-Quality FAKE which closely resembles the original. The document shows very convincing “wear” and “age”, and it’s made of quality materials. The front shows nicely embossed Soviet state emblem, just like the original document. The impressed writing at the bottom is “NKVD (Year of) 1939”. The internal pages have NKVD ink stamps and a fake signature of the Chief of NKVD Police Directorate of Ukraine.  The name of the “owner” is listed as “Vladimir Klinik”.  The document states that he is a Department Commander.
Fakes like this one are currently made in Russia and Ukraine to sell to unsuspecting beginner collectors and foreign tourists. They often show “genuine” heavy wear and even soiling and damage to make them look more convincing. Sometimes they are sold as a part of a large “group” of awards. Buyers beware!
Even though this is a fake, it is a nice item to have as a study example or to else to use as a display case “filler” (original SMERSH IDs of this type are rare and pretty expensive).
