Description

Military Photo ID Card, issued in July 1946 to a WW2 Black Sea Fleet NCO, Sergeant Yefim Makaryevskiy.
This is a standard format ID for Soviet Navy Active Duty Personnel, 1941 model, a booklet with soft cover bound in rubberized cloth, measures 3" x 4 ¼".  The front cover has inscription "Military ID Card. People’s Commissariat for the Navy of the Union of SSR, 1941”.
The ID shows that Yefim Makaryevskiy was born in 1920 and that his civilian profession was a metalworker. He was called-up for military duty in the Ukraine in June 1940 (one year before the German invasion of the Soviet Union) and joined the Black Sea Fleet as enlisted sailor. Starting from November 1941 and for the duration of the war, he served as a driver at the Headquarters of the Antiaircraft Forces of the Black Sea Fleet. In June 1944, he was promoted to Junior Sergeant and in June 1945 – to Sergeant.  He was released from active duty on 3 May 1946 and was issued a civilian passport on 9 September 1946.
The ID card is in VERY GOOD condition. It shows tiny staple holes to the cover, apparently from being attached to the folder of the military records file as was customary, but the cloth cover is still sound and very presentable. The internal pages are very clean. All the pages are present and firmly attached. All the printed text and hand-written entries are completely legible.
This document is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL Soviet Navy ID card from 1940s, not one of the many fakes we’ve seen on the market lately.
