Old Patriotic Boxed Set Great Navy Wooden Putz Ship & Military Boats - Japan

Description

The box measures 7 7/8" x 12" x 1 3/4" tall. Marked 'Made in Japan' with a horseshoe logo on the label. The box lid has end flap tears with a couple small sections missing, but great red, white and blue colors. However, that lid is darkened and stained from age, as is a corner of the bottom box. The inside is nice with waves printed on the paper. The wooden ships measure 2 3/8" - 9 3/4" long. Largest ship is 3 1/8" tall. Two tiny boats are missing a small wooden deck piece. Most of them have either missing or damaged paper flags. The largest ship has a few flags but the line needs restrung. The paint on all the boats is in very good - excellent condition with exception of the stacks (made of bamboo) on the largest ship. Some paint flaking there, but an impressive ship. Eight ships in all and I do believe this set is complete. Good luck!
