  • Condition: This original, Very Fine (VF) to Near Mint Three Sheet, restored, rolled, and linen backed movie poster exhibits solid, rich, bright colors with superior detail of the images on a basically pristine background. Breathtaking if you love this movie or old-time sci-fi/horror movies. The prior Fold lines - before restoration - at the top in the black background section are barely visible when viewed under bright light, close inspection and at an angle. There is a faint (1/2") mark on the right in the "A" in "DANA". There are no pin holes, no tears, and no tape or tape residue. There is no soiling or smudging. There is no loss of paper or color. The poster has a low gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    CURSE OF THE DEMON.

    It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.
    The movie stars
    Dana Andrews, Peggy Cummins, Niall MacGinnis
    , Athene Seyler, Liam Redmond, and Peter Elliot.
    This movie was directed by Jacques Tourneur.
    This restored movie poster is Rolled and measures 41.25" x 78.50", normally called a Three Sheet.
    This poster is also linen backed.
    With linen backing the overall poster plus linen measures 42.75" x 80".   Prior to restoration, the poster was Folded. Most original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded.  This is not considered a flaw or a defect.
    This original movie poster is now graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint.
    Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc.  It is difficult to find any pre-1985 original movie posters graded C10 (Mint).  Original movie posters - by generally recognized standards - cannot, or should not, receive a grade higher than C8.5 after restoration.
    Prior to restoration this poster was graded C6.5 Fine Plus.
    The restoration corrected Fold wear and Fold separation, minor chips and tears along the borders,  and slight edge wear along the borders.  The borders have been airbrushed.  This original movie poster now displays beautifully.
    According to Wikipedia, this movie was released in 1957 in the United Kingdom under the original movie Title
    NIGHT OF THE DEMON.
    It was later retitled and released in the United States in June 1958 as
    CURSE OF THE DEMON.
